BGCP est le regroupement des services d'incendie pour les municipalités de Bryson, Ile-du-Grand-Calumet et Portage-du-Fort. Le chef de pompier est Gerald Stewart.

BGCP is the union of the fire departments for Bryson, Grand-Calumet Island and Portage du Fort. The fire chief is Gerald Stewart.

Qualifications:

To become a part-time Firefighter with the B.GC.P Fire Department, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Live in or own a residence in Bryson, Ile-du-Grand-Calumet or Portage-du-Fort.
  • Quebec Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Satisfactory physical fitness assessment (to be conducted by the department on selected applicants)
  • Once accepted, complete the Fire Fighter 1 training program



Along with earning 15.00$ per hour, the Volunteer Firefighters Tax Credit provides a 15% non-refundable tax credit based on an amount of $3,000 for volunteer firefighters who perform at least 200 hours of service for their communities during the year.
